The Right Way To Compost
Join us at the Maplewood Mercantile on 05/03! We will be partnering with Javas Compost who will be helping us to learn everything we need to know about DIY composting.
With the change of seasons composting can be confusing. Maybe you’re one of the many people who have tried this composting thing before and it just never really worked out right. Or maybe you always wanted to try it but were put off by the scary stories you heard. Or maybe, you were overwhelmed by the crazy amount of tumblers and composting systems out there and didn’t want to invest in the wrong thing so you just stopped searching.
We will be demystifying composting to help you leave with the confidence to make home composting an easy part of your recycling and gardening routine. Get set this spring and get composting!

In Clean Cocktails, holistic health coaches Beth Ritter Nydick and Tara Roscioli bring a clean-living mindset to craft mixology.Their recipes use nothing but naturally low-calorie spirits; fresh juices loaded with vitamins; gentle sweeteners like honey and maple syrup; and anti-inflammatory spices like cinnamon, cayenne, and turmeric―the perfect alternative to drinks that are typically loaded with refined sugars, artificial flavors, and dyes.
Much more than a compendium of cocktails, this book provides recipes for “clean” syrups and bitters so readers can easily build their own delicious drinks. Nydick and Roscioli also highlight ingredients with health benefits, such as ginger (better digestion),cilantro (good for detox), and even vodka (metabolism booster, thanks very much). Many of the recipes offer pitcher-sized variations and feature innovative mixers like kombucha and iced tea.
